Management Bios

ANTHONY CURCI | President & CEO
Anthony joined SafetyMate in January 2005 as the President and CEO having served previously as financial consultant to the company. Anthony brings 15 years of operating and investing experience both as an entrepreneur, consultant, and as a principal. He founded and served as the Managing Member of the ARC Group, LLC and Lido Capital Partners, LLC, a diversified investment portfolio of private equity/venture investments in the small business/early stage manufacturing and technology sectors.

Anthony earned Bachelor’s degree in Psychology with an emphasis in Business Administration from UCLA, a Master's Degree in Psychology and an MBA in Finance and from the Graziadio School at Pepperdine University. While at UCLA, he was a member of two Division I NCAA Championship volleyball teams where in his final year he was elected team captain as well as earning All-American honors.

Anthoney Curci
SHARON COHEN, PH.D. | Vice President
Sharon joined SafetyMate in April 2005 with the primary responsibility of content aggregation, product and platform development. Her role specifically is in the development and enhancement of the logic flowcharts made up of protocols, human factors elements, and product functionality and utility. Prior to SafetyMate, Sharon’s previous roles and responsibilities have included researcher, educator, group facilitator, patient advocator, legal liaison, crisis management, public relations ambassador, event coordinator, and marketing director. She has an extensive history of working in the crisis-oriented environment of emergency psychiatric hospitals.

Sharon earned her Bachelor’s degree in Organizational Sociology with an emphasis in Business and Administration from UCLA. She completed her Master’s degree in Social Work at USC. She received her Doctorate from the University of Texas at Austin after completing her dissertation research on Popular Musicians’ Occupational Stress, Cognitive Appraisals and Coping Styles.

Sharon Cohen
ALLISON LIZZI | Director of Sales and Marketing
Allison joined SafetyMate in July of 2006 with a primary responsibility of implementing all corporate marketing initiatives and the management of the sales distribution network. Allison brings over a decade of sales and marketing experience formerly holding the position of Executive Vice President for a sales and marketing agency which specialized in fundraising for non-profit organizations, and developing and executing regional and national marketing and promotional campaigns for such clients as City of Hope, American Diabetes Association, and various agencies aiding abused children. Previously, her sales and marketing positions included industries from grocery/consumer packaged goods, beauty, and fashion to sports and entertainment.

Allison earned a Bachelor’s degree in Theatre Arts from UC Riverside. She also is a member of several safety industry organizations such as the National Safety Council and the American Society of Safety Engineers. Personally, she enjoys theatre and remains active producing a 1940’s cabaret dance troupe she created called Satin Dollz.

Allison Lizzi
J. ALAN SCHUMANN, PH.D. | Controller
Alan joined SafetyMate in March of 2006 with a primary responsibility as the Controller for the Company. His role is to manage financial and managerial accounting and general company operations. Additionally, within his role, he is involved in petitioning the California Occupational Safety and Health Standards Board, (Cal-OSHA) to require all California Employers to have reference material readily available to help employees in an emergency. Prior to joining SafetyMate, he served as the Director of Operations and Compliance with a subsidiary of one of the nation’s largest healthcare providers where he was responsible for patient safety and employee compliance with regulations and procedures.

Alan earned a Bachelor’s degree from the UC Davis in the field of Public Administration with an Emphasis in Public Service. Alan received his Doctorate in International Accounting from Northwestern University in Illinois. He served as the youngest appointed public official with the City of Moreno Valley and Moreno Valley Unified School District on various safety committees, boards, and task forces. With a particular passion for public safety, he is certified in First Aid/CPR, he is an advocate for community safety seeing the need to enable the public with the tools necessary to help in the time of an emergency.

Alan Schumann
MYLES KITCHEN | Director of Product and Business Development
Myles joined SafetyMate in March of 2005 as Director of Product and Business Development. He oversees all engineering and development of SafetyMate’s hardware products, including circuit design, firmware, packaging, processes, and manufacturing. Additionally, Myles is involved in business development activities relating to the building strategic partnerships both of the hardware and software platforms. Myles has spent over 30 years involved with technology product design, including engineering, marketing, and manufacturing. Mr. Kitchen has held key management positions at such noted technology firms as Intel Corp., National Semiconductor, Motorola Inc., Quantic Industries, and Zemco Group.

Myles earned an Associate degree in Electrical Engineering from University of Cincinnati, a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from University of Kentucky and has pursued advanced degree studies at both the University of Kentucky and Northern Illinois University. He is a member of the Society of Automotive Engineers, a vintage auto racing enthusiast and a musician.

Myles Kitchen
MARK MOUSSA | Director of Software Development
Mark joined SafetyMate in October of 2006 with a primary responsibility to build out and integrate the product development software platform. In addition, he is the lead on a number of software initiatives including the building of software products. Prior to SafetyMate, he worked at Arbonne International as the Internet Services Manager tasked with strategic direction, planning and execution of web and e-commerce strategies for this fast growing direct sales company. Mark has had a great deal of experience managing web & software development projects on different platforms and at all levels. During the “Dot-Com” era, Mark started a web design and development company and managed a development team that produced over 500 web sites and 75 e-commerce sites for small and medium businesses across the west coast. Early in his career, Mark worked at Microsoft and IBM in the area of sales and marketing where he gained extensive experience in technology product life cycles.

Mark received his Bachelor’s degree in Business from USC and has pursued advanced degree studies at the University of South Florida. Personally he enjoys playing the guitar, writing music and international travel.
