Press RoomSAFETYMATE CORPORATION LAUNCHES PREMIERE PRODUCT AT 2004 HOMELAND & GLOBAL SECURITY SUMMIT
IRVINE, CA (March 26, 2002) - SafetyMate Corporation announced today that it will be launching its premiere first aid responder device, SafetyMate®, at the 2004 Homeland & Global Security Summit in Washington, D.C., beginning on Wednesday, March 31, 2004 at the Washington Convention Center. To preview the SafetyMate device first hand at the Homeland Summit, please visit booth number 612. Developed with the support of and approval by the American Red Cross, SafetyMate is a hand held, battery powered portable interactive device that helps a first aid responder react confidently to a variety of life threatening medical emergencies with the push of a button. The audible instructions/protocols, provided step-by-step, are the same as those used by 911 operators, the American Red Cross, and the Department of Homeland Security. At the 2004 Homeland & Global Security Summit, SafetyMate will be able to demonstrate the instructions/protocol programmed for emergencies of particular concern to the Department of Homeland Security. SafetyMate can provide instructions/protocols that enable individuals to respond to homeland security threats including: explosions; radiation threats; chemical threats; and biological threats. In addition to its Homeland Security applications, SafetyMate provides instructions/protocols for emergencies most frequently reported to 911 or responded to by an Emergency Medical Team including: choking; seizures; head, spine and neck injuries; burns; electric shock; CPR; fractures; and unconsciousness. SafetyMate can be programmed in any language and is currently offered in an English/Spanish version in the U.S. and an English/French version in Canada. The proprietary programmability of SafetyMate allows the company to provide keypad configurations with varied protocol requests to meet the needs of any and all markets.
Because the product serves as an excellent skill refresher and enhances training, the American Red Cross has integrated it into its curriculum of first aid and CPR classes offered through chapters of the American Red Cross. In addition to distribution through American Red Cross chapters, SafetyMate is being adopted by a number of school districts as a means of providing supplementary protection to the students under their care and supervision. The schools' intent is to install the device in buses, gymnasiums, classrooms and administration buildings, thus making SafetyMate an integral component of safety preparedness and risk management programs. |
